William Sauer North Star Casino12/22/2023 ![]() ![]() The approach to ablation of VT across centers was substrate-based modification of scar guided by electroanatomic mapping. The aim of this study was to assess the outcomes of patients after catheter ablation and the impact of successful VT ablation on survival in patients with structural heart disease from the largest analysis of multi-center data to date. 2- 11 Therefore, the rate of survival in patients undergoing catheter ablation and the impact of VT recurrence on all-cause mortality in patients with structural heart disease is unknown. Yet, data on patient outcomes after ablation has been limited to single-center observational cohorts, prospective multi-center registries, and small randomized trials primarily evaluating VT recurrence. By reducing ICD shocks and VT recurrence, it is plausible for catheter ablation to have a beneficial impact on mortality. 1 It has been historically regarded as a palliative option to minimize the morbidity and adverse effects of ICD shocks on quality of life. Catheter ablation has been shown to reduce recurrent ventricular tachycardia (VT) and appropriate implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) therapies in patients with structural heart disease. ![]()
